The rains have softened the soil. Join us for an evening planting session, Friday Oct 21, 5:30-6:30 pm. Enjoy nature on the hill as we plant a couple of sticky monkeyflowers propagated from seed collected on Albany Hill. Gloves and tools provided. Free t-shirts. Meet at the NE meadow next to Cerrito Creek.
Directions:
Walk north down path from the end of Madison Ave in Albany, or walk east along path on south side of creek from Pierce Street in Richmond, or ford the creek from El Cerrito’s Creekside Park at the south end of Santa Clara Ave.

Also, mark your calendars for Nov. 10, 7 pm, City of Albany workshop on Albany Hill funding. Measure R, set to expire soon, provides funding for improvements and open space purchase on the hill, as well as for creek restoration. The city will be soliciting public input on how to spend the remaining funds for the hill and creeks. More details soon.
